The Abingdon Bridge supports young people to help them achieve their potential. We have qualified counsellors and youth workers and offer 121 support, group work, gym sessions and workshops in schools. We also do outreach work in Abingdon and run parent groups for the parents of clients.

Story

The Abingdon Bridge needs help meeting a target in February and me and Jordan have decided to sleep rough from the 23rd to the 26th of December given up Christmas Day and Dinner. The Abingdon Bridge Do Great work supporting young people with their mental health I really hope you can get behind us and help this charity reach their target.

Our counselling team work with about 100 different young people per year… on average our clients have about 12 counselling sessions each.

 

80% of our clients come to us because they want support with managing their anxiety.

60% of our clients referred to us are actively self-harming.

 

It costs TAB £40.00 for every counselling session we offer. On average that means £400 per client.

TAB also supports about 700 students within the local secondary schools, delivering education and workshops aimed at increasing young people’s resilience around healthy lifestyles including drugs and alcohol and staying safe online.

In addition, TAB supports about 40 different young people a year through our healthy lifestyles mentoring programme.
