Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.

THANK YOU FOR YOUR SPONSORSHIP

As most of you already know the Official ING New York Marathon was cancelled due to the devastation in New York as a result of Hurricane Sandy. Nevertheless, after 6 months of hard training, abstinence and mental preparation coupled with the support from all my sponsors there was no way I was ever going to not run my own marathon in New York. Fortunately there were hundreds of like minded runners all intent on running their own marathons.

On Sunday 4th November approx two thousand runners gathered in Central Park at various times, in various starting points and set off to run their marathon. Glorious, joyous chaos ensued. I finished my 26.2 miles in 4 hours 25 mins.

A Brilliant Day.

Thanks Guys

Scarlett's Story:

Scarlett is my Granddaughter. Since she was born she has suffered with acute eczema which affects her entire body. She rarely complains and just accepts the sores and irritation, the full body wraps and the constant moisturising as part of everyday life. The impact on Elliott and Lori's life has been dramatic and stressful with frequent hospital visits in the dead of night and round the clock care of Scarlett.

Throughout her life Scarlett has needed hospital support with most of this in recent years coming via the Great North Children's Hospital at the Royal Victoria Hospital (RVI) Children's Dermatology Dept. Through the Outpatients Dept they provide support, advice and care. They are always there, always patient and helpful and always full of enthusiasm and fun - just what kids need, especially kids like Scarlett.

I've always run and I always run for charities close to my heart. This year is no exception. In the last 4 weeks I've completed both the Great North Run and the Robin Hood Half Marathon but this year these were just my training runs. This year I've raised the bar - it's 21 years since my last Marathon (London 1991) and I'm out for a PB of under 4 hours. I need your help to support this really worthwhile cause. The Great North Children's Hospital is a fantastic place full of fantastic staff. Your donations will be helping all of the kids that use the hospital, and you'll be doing it in Scarlett's name. Thank you for your support.
