The Pink Rose Appeal (one of ACTs charities) helped raise money towards the building and equipping the Cambridge Breast Cancer Research Unit and now helps fund the running of this unit as well as raising much-needed money for breast cancer treatment, care and research at Addenbrooke's Hospital – invaluable work that is offering real hope and saving lives.

In 2013 my family’s world was turned upside down when my wife was diagnosed with breast cancer – something that happens to other people, not you or your loved ones.  Very quickly, we were thrown into a world of choices about biopsies, surgery and treatment plans – it’s amazing how much information you can absorb and retain when you really need to.

Throughout this journey (and it really is a journey) the amazing staff in Addenbrookes’ Breast Unit and the Oncology Unit never let us feel like we were on our own or that we were  squandering their very valuable time.  They truly are amazing people and we will never be able to thank them enough for all of their support and advice.

My wife Natalie was “signed off” by her consultant earlier this year and we now definitely look at life in a very different way now, but we will never be able to properly thank everyone at Addenbrookes for all of their help and support.
