Story
Teenagers find it really hard to cope with a chronic illness and often go off the rails. We run a unique community-based young adult service for teenagers and young adults with kidney failure in Oxford. Peer support is vital to help them cope with life saving medication and ongoing health care. A youth worker helps bring the young adults together and catalyse interaction. Our service has reduced treatment failure by 40% over the last 4 years.
We are raising funds to help continue to run this service and help start a similar service in Cape Town, South Africa.
Please help us give these young adults a means of interacting with one another to help them start out their adult lives successfully.
