GIST Cancer UK works to help patients and families affected by GIST - a rare cancer. We provide a patient support network and host meetings for patients and health professionals. We fund research to improve understanding and find treatments for GIST cancer as well as a specialist PAWS-GIST Clinic.

Story

Thank you for visiting my JustGiving page.

In September 2017, I will be attempting a 1000km cycle across France in a week, from Normandy to the Mediterranean sea. No, wheely.

My aim is to raise £2,250 for GIST Support UK. GIST is a rare type of cancer for which more research is badly needed. GIST Support UK is a volunteer-run charity that provides support services to those affected and funds important research on new and better forms of treatment.

My close friend Alex became involved with GIST Support UK after his dad Paul was diagnosed with GIST. 2017 will be the third year he has organised the cycle to raise funds. Sadly, Paul passed away in May so this year's ride will be in his memory. The photo above is of Alex and Paul after Alex finished the route for the first time in 2015.

Donating through JustGiving is simple, fast and secure. Your details are safe - JustGiving will never sell them or send unwanted emails. Once donated, the money goes directly to the charity, saving time and costs.

Thanks a lot,

Hutch
