We are dedicated to improving the quality of life and chances of survival for young cancer patients aged 13-24. We fund and build specialist units in NHS hospitals and provide dedicated staff, bringing young people together so they can be treated by teenage cancer experts in the best place for them.

Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit Paul and John's Justgiving page.Donating through Justgiving is simple, fast and totally secure. Your details are safe with Justgiving - they’ll never sell them on or send unwanted emails. Once you donate, they’ll send your money directly to the charity and make sure gift aid is reclaimed on every eligible donation by a UK taxpayer. So it’s the most efficient way to donate - we raise more, whilst saving time and cutting costs for the charity.

John was diagnosed with Hodgkin's Lymphoma in December 2008 - it's one of the most common forms of cancer in young people - but it's also one of the most curable. After chemotherapy and tests, John is making good progress - building up his fitness after a tough old year.

John played for Whitburn Saints - from '95/96 up to 2002/03 as an under 16 - and I know a good few of the lads from that team have kept in touch with him via Facebook throughout his treatment. John is in Liverpool working as a Teaching Assistant.

We decided to do the C2C as a sponsored bike ride in aid of the TEENAGE CANCER TRUST - which does some fantastic work here in the North East at the Great North Hospital - and many of you generously sponsored the pair of us at the Club's presentations.

We started the C2C at Whitehaven on Wednesday 21st July and plodged into the North Sea at Roker on Friday 23rd.

Several people donated at the SoL - but for those who have yet to pay, you can send a cheque made payable to TEENAGE CANCER TRUST to my home - 91 Cleadon Meadows, Cleadon, SR6 7PJ or you can let me have your donation at our pitches at Cleadon Lane - I'm there most nights!

Or simply use Just Giving to make your donation go further.

We'd just like to thank everyone for their support and generous donations - which will make a real difference to young people in the North East and Cumbria.
