We fund research, awareness and support to save men's lives from male cancer

Story

Before Christmas I noticed that my testicle wasn't feeling normal.

A visit to the doctor and subsequent urologist and ultrasound scan confirmed a cancerous growth inside my left testicle.

I would have probably gone to the doctors sooner but I assumed the change in size and feel was a side effect of vasectomy I had completed in the summer.

I had Orchidectomy on 21st January and following consultation with Cancer Specialist been advised I had a 5cm Seminoma inside my left testicle. This was the primary cancer and was starting to spread out of the testicle due to the size, but all of this has now been removed.

I had a CT Scan on 16th February. They pulled together all the analysis on the 22nd February. The outcome was that the cancer had not spread and was contained within the removed testicle.

Due to the size of tumour  I am at a slightly higher risk of the cancer returning so opted for 1 dose of Chemotherapy to prevent reoccurrence. This brings down the chance of it not coming back to between 95-98%.

In my period of isolation and awaiting surgery for removal I have set myself a target to get back to full fitness and complete the London Marathon in October 2022 raising awareness along the way.

Please support me in raising awareness of Men's Cancer and donate to Orchid who have kindly offered me a place in their Marathon Team.

A big challenge ahead!

I will also be completing some fundraising events over the summer so please keep and eye out for some fun and help increase my donations to the £2000 target!
