We are an appeal of the ICR and raise funds to make the discoveries that defeat cancer

Story

My wonderful father sadly passed away on the 30th September 2020 after being diagnosed with a rare form of testicular cancer in 2015 which unfortunately spread into his lungs.  We were amazed and inspired by how strong and positive he remained throughout all his treatment and after he was told the cancer was terminal in 2019.

We have decided not to have a funeral but we hope to have a memorial when things are safer and a Vaccine for COVID has been found. However, Paul cared deeply about other people. During his time in hospital he constantly wanted to support others going through treatment and the doctors and nurses looking after him. He often asked the staff how they were even when he was very ill himself. Other examples of these selfless acts include tidying the Cancer Ward’s Roof Terrace whilst he was undergoing treatment, buying bird feeders for the terrace and baking for the nurses and doctors when he was due to go to the hospital.

He put others before himself, and we feel in his spirit, it would be lovely to be able to try to help others diagnosed with testicular cancer and other forms of Male Cancer.

Research into Testicular Cancer and Prostate cancer are two of the most underfunded in the UK. Everyman Appeal launched by the Institute of Cancer Research raises money to fund world leading science research into these types of cancer.

Any donation would be greatly appreciated and would mean a lot to me and my mum Angela.

We would also like to thank all who have sent lovely cards with such kind words and fond memories of Paul. This has both touched and brought great comfort to me and my mum.

Everyman is an appeal run by The Institute of Cancer Research (ICR). Every year some 10,000 men lose their lives to prostate cancer and over 2,000 others have their world turned upside down by a diagnosis of testicular cancer. These men are the reason we are fundraising for male specific cancers.
