Story
In loving memory of Bill Lacey who was born 13 October 1942 and passed away peacefully on 21 March 2020.
Married to Dillis and with 4 sons Lee, Brian, Paul and Stephen the family moved from Birmingham to Bewdley.
He was a skilled mechanic, spending most of his work life at Land Rover in Solihull.
His early years of life centred around his love of
motorbikes - racing around the streets with his brothers and then off road scrambling and was a member of a Midlands Motor Cycle Club. He then enjoyed fishing on the local rivers and pools, and then started to play golf, encouraging his lads to take the game up, and enjoyed many a round (and a tipple) with us and many others, being a member of Habberley Golf Club and then Bewdley Pines.
He had a variety of music tastes through his life - rock n roll, 70's genre, and some classical music, but his favourites were Pink Floyd and ELO.
He always found time to enjoy his hobbies with us lads, as well as enjoying all sorts of walks with Dillis.
He was always there to lend a hand to us when needed - plumbing, electrical, mechanical, building work....he would turn his hand to anything.
Bill's biggest fear was not the cancer fight, but the thought of losing his eyesight having contracted macular degeneration, and not being able to see his loved ones or do the things he most enjoyed. He spoke passionately about doing what he could to extend his sight. With this in mind, as a family, we would respect that anyone who would like to make a donation, in remembrance to Bill, do so by clicking the link attached for 'Just Giving' for the The Macular Disease Society who study and help support those with this crippling disease.
