SPACE children's charity is an amazing grassroots charity based in Chester. SPACE was set up by parents of children with additional needs who found locally there was very little support or accessible play facilities for them.Their mission is to relieve the isolation experienced by children with additional needs and their families by providing fully accessible support and facilities to families from around the North West and North Wales.

One of our members, Illi, and her family are just one of the many families that SPACE make a very real difference to, from being able to take Eddie and his brother Thomas to the centre to some amazing weekly support throughout lockdown. But the best bit, and the bit that keeps Illi coming back to the box every week, is being able help Eddie access the soft play activities which he wouldn't otherwise get to experience. Carrying a 19kg, non mobile but still very wriggly child up a soft play slide is functional fitness at it's finest!
