The issue of homelessness continues to make the headlines on
a regular basis. However, given the continued lack of significant action by the
powers that be, it is still hugely important that those of us who are able to
do so keep the focus on making real headway and help change our thinking on
what can be done to help those who sleep rough on our streets, in hostels or
anywhere else that is not called ‘home’.

So, once again, I find myself headed toward St James Park –
Thursday 9^th March with my cardboard and sleeping bag, to raise some
more money that will go toward helping with the funds needed in order that as
many people as possible can be given the support and assistance that will allow
them to turn things round and move forward with their lives.

This year I am raising money on behalf of Changing Lives,
one of the partner organisations of the Newcastle United Foundation and one
that, having seen what they do with the money raised, I am very pleased to be
associated with. I have seen, first hand, the great things that Changing Lives
and their team offer in the way of guidance, support and safe places to live
and am more determined than ever to bang the drum to ask all of you to help me
raise as much money as possible so that Changing Lives can reach more people
and make a difference to more lives
