So I've finally decided to take the plunge to attempt a Marathon run before my varicose veins make it impossible! 

I decided to raise money for Doctors of the World because of the amazing work they do. The charity is an independent humanitarian movement working at home and abroad to empower excluded people to access healthcare.Through 350 programmes in 80 countries run by more than 3,000 volunteers they provide medical care, strengthen health systems and address underlying barriers to healthcare.

They also strive to give a voice to the most marginalised, reporting on violence, injustice and unmet health needs wherever they find them.

We are very lucky in the UK that we have the brilliant NHS. However, it sometimes makes us forget that there are millions of people around the world who aren't as lucky and have little or no access to even the most basic healthcare.
