Story
Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page. I'm doing the Marsden March at the end of March with my good friends Gala, Siobhan and Rachel. Gala has been having treatment at the Royal Marsden hospital and when she asked if I'd like to join her on the walk I jumped at the chance.
A nice saunter across south London sounded like a walk in the park. And I like walking in the park. But then I started getting some practice and I realized that 14 miles is quite a long way to walk. And while I used to happily trek over hills and mountains, that was when I was closer to 20 than 40.
I've been out walking most weekends, trekking along the Greensand Ridge that runs across Bedfordshire near where I live. It's very wet at the moment, which makes it hard going in the mud. So I need a bit of encouragement to make sure I'm ready on the day!
Gala is a real inspiration. She's doing the March even though she's undergoing chemo at the moment. She wants to recognize all the great work that the Royal Marsden is doing to beat cancer. It's an amazing cause and I'm proud to walk with Gala to support it.
I hope you think so too and will help me reach my fundraising target.
