Forever Angels provides interim care for orphaned babies until a permanent family can be found. We believe in FAMILY. Maisha Matters supports orphaned babies in their own homes with life saving formula milk whilst empowering their families through business creation and education.

Story

My name is Pedja Pavlovic, I am a keen basketball player and Specialist Periodontist from Tunbridge Wells, Kent.

In 2012 I went to Tanzania to do some dental charity work and visited an orphanage run by Amy and Ben Hathaway. Forever Angels Baby Home provides care for orphaned and abandoned children in Tanzania, with a focus on finding extended family of the children and reuniting them and
supporting the families.

I decided to climb Mont Blanc last year when I was hiking in the Dolomites. I made the decision on the spot and I stuck with that idea since then, beginning training almost immediately. It seems to be all this physical activity that keeps me sane.  Or is it just a mid-life crisis driving my decision making.

Mont Blanc is the highest mountain in Europe at 4,808 metres above sea level, I will be climbing in a team with 1 guide for every 2 climbers. We will set off on 22nd July and aim to make the summit of Mont Blanc on day 5. Conditions at the summit can be challenging with the wind chill factor making it minus 30 degrees.

I have mentioned what I am doing to a number of patients who urged me to raise money for a charity in the process.

A couple of charities are dear to my heart, Alzheimer’s Society and Breast Cancer Research due to those illnesses claiming my parent’s lives. The Royal Family are drawing much needed
attention to Mental Health, which was also high on my list. And then I remembered the extraordinary people trying to help babies and toddlers in Tanzania…..
