Story
Thanks for visiting our team fundraising page.
We are raising money for The Royal Air Force Benevolent Fund and Macmillan Cancer Support. You'll see our team fundraising target on the right. Your donation can really help us smash this goal.
We all work for the Royal Air Force, on Helicopter Search and Rescue. We are part of 22 Squadron and we are based at Wattisham Airfield near Ipswich.
We will be cycling from Wattisham Airfield near Ipswich, to Royal Marine Base Chivenor near Barnstaple, then on to Royal Air Force Valley on Anglesey, before returning to Wattisham Airfield. The total distance we will be covering is 950 miles.
Along the entire route, we will be carrying The Baton, which 'is a symbol of National conscience, crafted with care and respect from the handle of a stretcher, symbolising pride, hope, courage and suffering. Most importantly, it is a message of gratitude from those who wish to support the brave men and women of our Armed Forces who regularly risk their lives so that we may live with freedom of choice, peace and safety.' Recently, one of our colleagues Sergeant Alex Brown has been diagnosed with testicular cancer, all our best wishes go to him, his wife Shelley and son Sebastian.
