Special Stars Foundation is a registered charity supporting people with disabilities and their families, in Hull and East Yorkshire. (Registered Charity number: 1156237) They provide a diverse range of inclusive and accessible activities for people with disabilities and their families, with the aim of reducing social isolation. Special Stars also offers a range of support, training, therapy and advice services for parent carers.

I am running for Special Stars Foundation because I believe that all children should have access to inclusive activities. Our Daughter, who was born with Ataxia, Hypotonia and Opsoclonus, has issues with her balance, her coordination and is visually impaired. She uses a Kaye Walker, Crutches and a Wheelchair to help her get around, so accessing leisure activities can often be challenging. Without charities like Special Stars, she wouldn't have access to inclusive activities, like dance classes, sports, and leisure activity sessions. Special Stars organises sessions that are specially supervised and aimed at offering support for children with additional needs so they can 'join' in. Raising funds for Special Stars means that they can continue the amazing work they are doing in our local area.
