Story
Thanks for taking the time to visit our JustGiving page.
Well here we go......
I (Penny) decided during my 50th year that I would like to take on a challenge, something totally unique in my life and way out of my comfort zone Whilst taking on this challenge, also raising money for a charity.
A friend of mine, who is a patron for the charity "Regain", Ann Frampton, approached me to join her on this particular challenge. Once she had mentioned that the cycle ride of 400km is from Nairobi to Nakuru, via lake Victoria, I answered immediately "I' m doing this!" She was stunned at my quick decision!!!!
The reason being - 20 years ago, my parents, built a school for the street children in Nakuru, where I have always wanted to visit.. We are going to be visiting the school on our last day, which will definitely encourage us to get over the finish line!! We are hoping to take some items of clothing, pencils and rubbers, balls, paper, balloons, flip flops etc out with us for the children and hopefully a bit of funding for them as they are continually needing support.
On mentioning the idea of this cycle challenge to my partner, Richard, he said "If you do it - I will join you!!" So here we go - this is a HUGE challenge for us both, we are extremely excited, a little nervous but very much looking forward to the challenges which are ahead......
Please support us with this challenge - every penny makes a huge difference to these peoples lives...
