Zakat ul-Fitr, Fitrana or Fitrah, is a form of charity given to the poor at the end of Ramadan.
Fitrana is due on every member of a household, including any children or elderly persons and is obligatory to pay before Eid salah.
The amount of Zakat ul-Fitr for this year with Penny Appeal is £3.50 per person. It has been calculated at this price because it is the average price of a meal in the UK. The Zakat al-Fitr donations are used to provide food for the needy.
Donate your Fitrana as soon as possible, so your donations can reach those in need in advance of Eid day.
Just £1 of your Fitrana can provide a nutritious meal to someone who would otherwise go without. Zakat al-Fitr is wajib for every Muslim, as long as you can afford to pay it.
Make sure that you pay your Fitrana of £3.50 before Eid salah, as is our obligation.
