2 years ago I was all set to take part in the Marathon Des Sables and had pretty much finished my heavy training and started to taper off towards the start date. Then came the Pandemic.

2 years on and 2 years older and greyer. I will be taking on the Marathon Des Sables in March 2022. MDS is considered one of the toughest races in the world.

All competitors require to carry all of their own equipment for survival across over 150 miles of the Sahara Desert over 7 days.

This will not be an easy challenge and I am planning on raising money for the Motivation and Learning Trust.

Through the Pandemic the MLT has supported lots of our most vulnerable learners in staying on track and in learning supporting them towards a brighter future with the career of their choice.

I have seen this working 1st hand and know the support that they have given to young people has had a direct and positive effect on their future.
