In memory of Finlay Marriott

Each year 450 UK children are diagnosed with brain cancer. Among these there is a tumour so aggressive that there is NO effective treatment or a CURE - Diffuse Intrinsic Pontine Glioma or DIPG. Responsible for 80% of all brain tumour death we raise vital research funds to give hope to DIPG families.

Story

We are cycling 500 miles in 5 days (from Cranleigh to north Donegal) to raise money in memory of Finlay Marriott for Abbie's Army to fund medical research into finding a cure for DIPG.

DIPG is the most fatal form of childhood brain cancer which grows in the pons area of the brain stem, making surgery impossible. It is terminal at diagnosis and there are no effective treatments or cures available. Finlay, the eldest son of our friends Jude and Chris Marriott, was diagnosed in February 2013; he died within a year, aged just nine years old.

People have already raised a huge amount of money in the name of Finlay's Fighters which has helped the charity, Abbie's Army, to fund pre-clinical research in Bristol to inform future DIPG clinical trials. We hope this work will get us closer to finding a cure.

So, if you could sponsor us to complete our daft challenge (at the end of October - 24th to 28th, probably in terrible weather) it would be hugely appreciated.
