During the summer of 2013 I spent two weeks volunteering at St. Vincent's Hospice. The staff's energy, commitment and compassion for those in their care was immediately plain to see. 

As well as carrying out aspects of basic care I was fortunate enough to spend time with patients, attentively listening and swapping stories about life. These brave individuals and their families taught me an invaluable lesson: to embrace strength and love in the face of adversity.

My time here although emotional and challenging was profoundly rewarding. In short, it is an honour to run and raise money for such a worthy cause.
