I'm a big cricket fan and whilst watching England's test matches this summer was really inspired by everyone wearing red to raise awareness of the Ruth Strauss foundation. Ruth is the wife of Sir Andrew Strauss who was captain of England and won the Ashes against Australia. Ruth sadly died of cancer aged 46 and left behind two boys aged 10 and 13. The idea of setting up a foundation came to Ruth in the last few months of her life. She desperately wanted to help those afflicted by this terrible disease to access professional emotional support when facing the death of a parent from cancer.
