I have made a promise to someone who 2 years ago took the leap to leave their addictions behind and get into independent living.  They managed it and the difference is remarkable.  I promised them that if they could stay the course I’d give up my time and do something to learn what it’s like and to make a difference. I’m long overdue and now it’s time to keep my end of our bargain.  I’m the neighbourhood sergeant for Oxford Central and North Neighbourhood Policing Team and I work in and around homelessness on a daily basis.  It’s time to experience what it’s like to sleep rough.  So I’m  taking part in SLEEP OUT! 2019 in July to help people to leave homelessness behind.  Each year Homeless Oxfordshire and Aspire support hundreds of people who are homeless or at risk of homelessness.  I'll be spending the night sleeping outside. Although far from the reality of sleeping rough, I’ve raised over my target of £200 , and it would be great to see how much more I can raise  to go towards the charities' vital work.
