Hi everyone I'm Petra the founder and Chairperson of Darcey's Dream - My Family And Siblings Matter. My husband is Simon and this is our fundraising page for The Great North Run 2019. 

I have never ran in my life so for me to run 13.1 miles is a huge task. After having 4 children in 3 years my fitness hasn't been amazing. Both myself and my husband are training really hard and the lovely Lyndon Longhorne Paralympic swimmer is our personal trainer. He is pushing us hard to make sure we are ready for the main event. Lyndon is an Ambassador for Darcey's Dream so has dedicated time to us and other members of Team DD to help us achieve the GNR. Follow my training updates on Instagram @petramummyof4. 

Myself and Simon are running in memory of our precious girl Darcey Leigh Stephanie Williams who tragically grew her wings far too soon at 9.5 weeks old. We had 9.5 weeks of kisses, cuddles, feeding, bedtime, bathing, walks in the park and family outings before she was taken from us. Our world was shattered in an instant and life would never be the same again. We had to carry on through the worst pain ever for our other children. No one should ever have to plan their child's funeral or bury their child. The worst pain ever is to continue breathing when your child has took their last breath. The pain never gets easier and time doesn't heal anything.

Darcey has a twin sister and older sister who were both completely overlooked when she died. Darcey's Dream was founded by myself and set up to support the whole family after the loss or death of a baby or child in any circumstances with a special focus on siblings. Siblings should never be overlooked. We are raising money for Darcey's Dream by running the GNR. Everysingle penny goes to helping families and siblings at Darcey's Dream. The charity is our girls legacy and helps so many families. The services provided are priceless to families. 

Simon and I would be so grateful if you could sponsor us for the GNR and wish us luck. Our eldest daughter Emelia-Paige at just 4 years old has been leading the way with her own campaign called #10lengthsforDarcey which is raising awareness of sibling loss and vital funds to help grieving siblings like herself get the correct help and support through Darcey's Dream. She wants to tell the would siblings grieve just as much as mummy and daddy and this is so true. She is doing amazing and raising so much awareness of sibling loss and sibling grief. It's about time mummy and daddy take on a big challenge so our big challenge is the GNR. 

Simon has already said after the GNR he would like to take on the London Marathon. 

I will not only be running in memory of Darcey my precious girl, I'm running in memory of all of the Angels taken too soon. I will be running with Angel names on my back, as will Donna our Social Media and Fundraising Manager at Darcey's Dream. If you would like to have your Angel's name on mine or Donna's back just let one of us know. The suggested donation per name is £10.
