Story
Hi and thanks for visiting my Just Giving page!
Many of you will know I sing in the Richmond based choir Cantanti Camerati. We are raising funds for our visit to Sierra Leone at the end of October, taking advantage of the fact that one of our members is on a secondment there. While we are there we will be running workshops, visiting schools and singing with local choirs. We are also donating musical instruments to the Ballanta Music Academy of Freetown. They are the leading music school in the country - just about the poorest in the world - but alas their resources are few. A shipment has already gone over but we are taking as many more instruments as we can when we go. If you have a spare instrument that could do with a new home please let me know!
So, here I go again, hauling my old bones around a gruelling 10k course. The photo (that's me on the left) is of the only other occasion I've managed to run this far. It nearly killed me so I thought I'd better have another go.
Please give generously to help us enrich the culture of this country as it struggles to its feet after the recent civil war.
Thanks!
Philip
