Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page in memory of Howard Ashworth. The tragic loss of Howard affected many people in the local walking and running scene as he was active with practically every club in the area! A couple of years ago I did this very same challenge as a way to get myself motivated and have decided to do the same again this year but to also try and raise funds for Headway in memory of Howard.

So....The aim of My challenge is very appropriate as this year marks Headway's 40th Anniversary and they are looking for fundraising which involves the number 40. My challenge therefore is to either Run or Walk a minimum of either 2 or 5 miles respectively every day during the 40 days of Lent. I will upload my daily progress on my Facebook page so people can keep track however there is a bit of a fun element involved with this. The idea is that for every £2 you donate you get one guess of  the total mileage you think I will complete over the 40 days. i.e. If you donate £10 you get five guesses. You'll need to put your guesses in Miles and to two decimal places e.g.193.56 miles. (Please use the comment box when donating)

I shall be donating a Deuter Running BumBag (see below) to the person who guesses closest to my final tally of miles completed over the 40 days of Lent. Due to obvious reasons only guesses made ON OR BEFORE day 20 will be included in the draw although you are most certainly still allowed to donate to the page until the closing date of Easter Sunday.

Finally, a hint.....two years ago I just broke the 200 mile mark for the forty days so it could well be around a similar mark again!!

I do hope you support me in this venture and I shall look forward to the running and walking with a determination to succeed.

Cheers everyone, Phil
