We relieve poverty and advance education to give children the best start in life

Story

Our dear brother, nephew, cousin and friend Roger Mews passed away suddenly on 5th November at his home in Mallorca. We are devastated by the loss of Roger who was literally the life and soul of the party as well as being the most quiet, caring and compassionate man anyone could meet.

We are setting up this fundraising page in memory of Roger to raise money for the Royal Masonic Trust for Girls and Boys which is a charity whose aim it is to relieve poverty and advance the education of children in the UK. When Roger was five years old (and I was seven) we lost both of our parents within weeks of each other and we were left orphans. Thankfully the Royal Masonic Trust stepped in and enabled Roger and I to go to a local boarding school which ensured that we could continue to be brought up by our Grandma and enabled our family to remain together. Roger and I have always been so grateful to the Trust for keeping our family together and ensuring that we had the best possible start in life despite having lost our parents and Roger held the charity very close to his heart.

If you would like to give what you can afford, I know that the money will help other children who may have lost their parents and benefit in the same way as we did. I'm so proud of my little brother and all his wonderful achievements in life. We will miss Roger every day forever but I am thankful that he was in all of our lives bringing us love, laughter and music.

About the charity
