Story
In just under a month I will be cycling 170km around the Balearic island of Ibiza to raise money for two great causes and would love your help. As you know, Ibiza holds a special place in my heart but cycling this distance over the mountaineous terrain will be a unique challenge, particularly given my general lack of fitness!!
The two causes I am raising money for (Great Ormond Street Hospital and The Ibiza Preservation Fund - see below for more details) are both very important to me and are in desperate need of money to continue their great work. And that's where you come in - any donations you can make will be gratefully received.
Thank you in advance for any support you can give with this, and now time to start training...
Many thanks
Philip
Charities
Great Ormond Street Hospital: - GOSH is one of the world's leading Children's hospitals. It was founded in 1852, and now handles 192,000 patient visits every year. It needs to raise £50m every year to help refurbish the hospital, buy vital equipment and fund essential research. For more info: www.gosh.org
Ibiza Preservation Fund: - The IPF aims to help preserve Ibiza’s exceptional beauty and natural value, currently threatened by mass tourism development, and to promote sustainable initiatives. Funds raised will be used to support cutting-edge environmental initiatives, carried out by organizations on the island, or other Spanish groups that try to influence policies that affect the island. The IPF was founded in 2008 and I have been closely involved since on its trustee board. For more info:www.ibizapreservationfund.org
