Save the Children exists to help every child reach their full potential. In the UK and around the world, we make sure children stay safe, healthy and keep learning, so they can become who they want to be.

Story

Just £5 Will buy a treated mosquito net to protect children at risk from Malaria

£10 buys a desk to help two children get an education in Sudan.

£300 can buy clothes to keep more than 30 children warm throughout winter in Mongolia.

£3,000 could dig a borehole and give a community in Zimbabwe clean water.

With this in mind:

With the hope of securing your sponsorship for the Save The Children Charity - I will be embaring on a trek expedition through the remote Chapada Diamantina national park in Brazil. All donations go straight to the charity and will make a real difference in the lives of those children who desperately need our help. Many of us really take for granted what we have and are exposed to on a daily basis - forgetting that there are people out there who have no concept of the opportunities and lifestyle we are afforded in our lives. I for one am blessed with more than I need to live a comfortable life, as I am certain many of us are too

This site is a call to action to sponsor me for the Trek Challenge - and help to save and improve the lives of desperate children in need of our help.

What it's all about:

Save the Children is Reckitt Benckiser's global charity partner and since 2003 we have raised over £4 million to save children's lives.

From 13 June – 21 June 2011, myself and 30 colleagues from RB globally will trek for 71kms over 5 days in the rugged Chapada Diamantina National Park in Brazil for Save The Children. The trek will be physically tough, walking up steep and rough hills, through valleys and across rocky river beds. Temperatures will be challenging at over 30 degrees Celsius during the day and we'll be camping or staying in local houses during the challenge.

This is an exciting, once in a lifetime opportunity and a true challenge. I'm really excited to get stuck in to the fundraising and really make an impact on the lives of those less fortunate than myself.

Save The Children

Around the world, Save The Children work flat out to ensure children get proper healthcare, food, education and protection.

In South Africa, Save The Children provide practical and emotional support to vulnerable children in three of the country’s poorest provinces, Free State, Limpopo and Eastern Cape. In the last year, nearly 73,000 children have benefited from their food support, help with registration for child-support grants, healthcare and school uniforms.
