Story
Following the delivery of our beautiful stillborn twins on Saturday 13th October 2018 at 15 weeks, we found ourselves trying to recover from huge heartache and pain, and we still do so today. We did everything we could for our twins but to no avail. We are incredibly lucky to know that we will always be parents to our two angel babies- and they will forever be in our hearts.
We know just how invaluable private space is to bereaved parents. Knowing that we had our own safe space during our time of darkness helped us to feel safe and supported. Losing our babies has been/is the hardest thing either of us has ever faced- and we deal with our loss every day. Without the support from York Hospital, I don't know what we would have done. Knowing that we had time to bond with our children really helped us with our grief. The room becomes your world throughout the whole experience. However- the room is in desperate need of refurbishment and renovation! This is where you come in...
"We are raising money to provide the families who will sadly suffer a loss of their baby at our hospital each week, somewhere they feel safe and cared for. We want them to have somewhere comfortable and quiet to sleep, somewhere with space to walk and space to sit, somewhere with access to fresh air, somewhere they can have family visit and somewhere we can give them quality time to start to say goodbye to their baby and begin their journey of grief"
We have been searching for hope since the loss of our twins, something positive to come out of the darkness, and we strongly believe that this appeal is exactly what we were looking for. We are politely asking for you to give what you can afford to help to support other families facing such sad losses within York Hospital in honour of our twins. Thank you in advance- every penny counts.
