The Summer of Cycling for Microtia UK · 24 April 2017

1:6000 children are born with microtia. Microtia results in underdeveloped ear(s) and impacts hearing. It can impact the heart, kidneys, different parts of the face and spine. There is an ongoing question whether microtia is environmental or genetic or a combination.

Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.

As I'm sure a lot of you are aware our son Oliver has Microtia. It's rare and therefore difficult to find the right support to help you make the most informed decisions. Microtia UK work towards helping parents like Nadia and I with that challenge so when the chance came to help them fundraise through cycling in the Yorkshire hills I jumped at the chance. It got me thinking and I've decided to do as many cycling events as I can as long as the donations keep rolling in. So after the Tour de Yorkshire (which is going to be really tough) I'm going to do the Tour de Manc and if my legs are still working the Manchester 100 miles (which is the one I promised to do last year after getting such strong support for the Manchester 100k). So this is going to add up to a lot of effort from me and I'd appreciate as much support from you guys as possible.

NB: To those who donated on the original Tour de Yorkshire page I've moved those donations over as offline contributions. You guys got me started and thinking about extending this so thanks to you all.
