Story

Hi Guys, Girls and random people, thanks for visitng my JustGiving page. My reasoning behind raising money for Humberstone Park school is a simple one.... They are fantastic at what they do!!! I understand many of you will never have heard of this particular school so let me fill you in. Humberston park is a special school local to me in Grimsby, Lincolnshire. They cater for pupils from the age of 3 - 19 who have severe learning difficulties and a vast range of complex medical needs. They are not hugely funded so therefore rely a lot on fund raising. The reason why Humberston Park is speacial to me is because my son Harley attends.

Harley was diagnosed with severe Autism and Global Developmental Delay at aged 2 1/2 and has a number of issues which we have to deal with a sa family, since Harley started attending Humberston Park he has come on leaps and bounds, small things tht people take for granted, such as using a fork or waving are HUGE steps for Harley, and much of this is down to the hard work and dedication of the teachers at the school. They often go above and beyond the call of duty, such as visiting the family home to discuss strategies that could be put in place to help both Harley, and us as a family.

I was originally planning to raise money for the National Autistic Society, and whilst they are a great charity who do a lot of work raising awareness in Autism, I think the money I'm hoping to raise would be a drop in the ocean for them, but could potentially be a massive beneifit to a lesser well known but equally worthy charity like Humberston Park Special School.

Thank you for visiting and reading my oage and any money you can spare would be greatly appreciated - I can assure you it is going to a fantastic cause and will go towards making lots of young children and young adults very happy indeed.

Cheers
