Story

My beautiful Dad passed away on March 7th 2021 and our lives will never be the same.

Dad had lived a long, healthy and happy life but unfortunately was diagnosed with Oesophageal cancer on November 25th 2020. It is not until you are in this situation that you truly understand how amazing the Palliative Care team are and how much you will depend on them.  Through their expertise, support and guidance we were able to care for my Dad at home.  They treated Dad with such respect, dignity, kindness and gentle care. Having Dad cared for at home gave us the gift of time.  We had time to talk, laugh, cry and pray together, nothing was left unsaid.  I will never forget as long as I live the compassion and care we as a family received from each member of the care team.

I would really appreciate it if you can spare a few euro to donate to the Kerry Hospice Foundation in my Dads honour.  As Dad would say "Keep saying your prayers" , Pierce Stapleton RIP
