Story
After hitting a pavement on a run just over a year ago and breaking my collarbone along with fast approaching the big 30, I’ve finally signed up to do a marathon to prove to myself that I’m not that old and I can get back up after a fall (see awful pic above).
Choosing a charity has been incredibly difficult. However, after much research, I would be incredibly grateful for anyone to share what they can and donate to Solace.
The feeling of uneasiness, of not feeling safe, is something that we can all relate to at times. When sharing stories among friends and families, it is clear how many people of all genders have been affected by experiences where they have felt uncomfortable.
As we have recently celebrated International Women’s Day, I would like to continue on this theme and, as a woman, I know first hand how it can feel to be vulnerable.
Solace provides women and children with a safe place to seek refuge, support to any women affected by sexual assault at any point in their life, therapy and many other support services whilst also campaigning to help build safe lives and strong futures for women and children.
