St Margaret’s Hospice has been at the heart of Somerset’s community for over 40 years, delivering high quality, responsive and compassionate care to patients and their families facing a life-limiting illness.

Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.

As most, if not all of you are aware, my Mum Rosemary lost her brave battle with cancer in November 2000.

During her illness she spent considerable time at the St Margaret's Somerset Hospice, a local charity committed to providing specialist palliative care, advice, support and respite to patients and their families living in Somerset.

St. Margaret's receives only 19% of its funding through the NHS and the rest is raised via charitable donations (which is where I come in !).

Earlier this year I decided to set myself a challenge to raise some money for this amazing place and I took the plunge and signed up my first ever half marathon - the Robin Hood - on the 13 September 2009 in Nottingham.

For the past few months I have been 'in training' (thanks to Liza for being an amazing running partner) and whilst I am really chuffed with the physical and mental benefits I have gained whilst doing this, I will take more pleasure in raising some money for the hospice.

So.......please will you sponsor me - any amount, small or large is fabulous and I know that St. Margaret's will be so grateful for any donation to the hospice as it all goes towards paying for the care required by its patients.

The hospice was, and continues to be an amazing support to so many. Please help me to make a difference and give something back to the hospice for the love, care and support they gave not only to Mum, but to Dad, Em and me.

Thank you thank you thank you !!

xx
