Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit our JustGiving page.

The Pirates of Polbathic Radio Station is a community outreach initiative, supported by The Halfway House Pub and DJ Mutton Jeff. Our aim is to keep the village of Polbathic, Cornwall, and the surrounding areas, entertained and in touch during the current Covid 19 Pandemic and the resulting Lock Down.

We currently run a 3 hour show every Sunday, with listeners tuning in online. The first of these shows was broadcast from the Pub, however since Lockdown the DJing, technical support and social media elements are all done from our separate homes.

Since starting in March, The show has brought happiness, comfort and a real feeling of community spirit to our local villagers and friends. We would now like to support a charity close to the hearts of some of the aforementioned listeners and help Spring Intensive Care raise money for the ICU unit of Derriford Hospital, in Plymouth.

Spring Intensive Care is a registered charity that supports the unit and relies totally on voluntary donations which are used to ensure that critically ill patients in Plymouth get the best care possible. The Charity has used its funds to purchase life saving equipment, fund nurse education and support the families of critically ill patients.

To raise money we shall be putting on a 24 hour live stream of our Radio Show. This will take place over May Bank Holiday Weekend, starting at 3pm on Saturday 9th May and concluding with our usual 12-3 slot on Sunday 10th May. As well as a wide range of music, with something for everyone, we will have games and competitions throughout the show to give everyone a chance to join in.

All money raised will be donated to the Spring Intensive Care Charity.

Donating through JustGiving is simple, fast and totally secure. Your details are safe with JustGiving - they'll never sell them on or send unwanted emails. Once you donate, they'll send your money directly to the charity. So it's the most efficient way to donate - saving time and cutting costs for the charity.
