Since Mind in Harrow is our chosen Charity of the Year we are very keen to get involved in the Harrow Half Marathon.  We are using the opportunity to support Mind even further following the most recent success of the Jail and Bail event. The purpose of our initiative is to campaign, educate and raise awareness of Mental Health and Wellbeing.

Traditionally, mental health has been the elephant in the room and something people have found difficult to talk about. However, mental health conditions can have a significant impact on both employers and colleagues and is not a topic which should be ignored.

What do we do as an Employer at Bakkavor Pizza Harrow? 

1.   We actively promote mental health and well- being in the workplace.  We are also looking at implementing mental health champions and mental health first aider on site.
2.  We encourage positive working relationships and social activities amongst staff (Annual New Year Party, Multicultural event, Fun weekend) and promoting healthy work/life balance.
3.    We also ensure that leaders of our business are on board and send a clear message that mental health matters. Line managers should be trained to spot the signs of a mental health condition early and equipped with the tools and resources to support their employees effectively.
For this reason, our Harrow Line Managers and SEF Team Members have attended the Mental Health Awareness workshop.
4. Charity of the year – We have also chosen Mind in Harrow as our charity of the year
and we have raised £5,552 towards this charity already. Once again thank you for your generosity and involvement in ‘Jail and Bail’
5.  SEF Awareness – our Site SEF team has   already attended initial briefing session with Mind and Mental health awareness is on our 2019 SEF Plan
