Walking 15,321 steps a day until World Down Syndrome Day 2022

World Down Syndrome Day 2022 · 21 March 2022
Most of you who know me, know that on a good day, even with the best intentions, if I manage to tear myself away from what I'm doing, I might manage to walk a shameful amount of steps!
But I thought I'd challenge myself for a great cause close to my heart. I'll be walking 15,321 steps a day from 1st March until World Down Syndrome Day 2022 which is on 21st March...wearing my odd socks of course!
Why? Firstly, it's to raise awareness on the fantastic resources and support available to families and professional services at Positive About Down Syndrome UK - on the reality of Down Syndrome (DS), common health issues, tips, tricks and support from the community as well as practical information around DS. This can make all the difference for an unborn child with DS as well as helping them get to the best possible start to reach their potential!
Secondly, because I've only recently accessed some of their invaluable information on DS, and I'm absolutely kicking myself that PADS had the answers I needed all this time, which would have prevented the long term/prolonged health issues my daughter Jiya now has after going around in circles with professional health services for so long!
I'm hoping to raise as much funds as possible so that PADS are able to grow and provide more/new important services, such as baby signing, early development workshops and counselling to parents of a little one with DS, as well as continuing to provide the mine of information and support that they do now ❤💜💙
I'll share an update of my daily steps to help keep me on track 👣
