Hi Everyone!! 

This August I am off to Zambia! 

I have been given the fantastic opportunity to volunteer as part of Restless Development: a youth-led development agency. This government funded organisation empowers young people all around the world to make a difference to global poverty through ICS (International Citizen Service). 

During the 3 months of the placement Restless Development volunteers work closely with local volunteers to focus on three main areas: 

1) Livelihood & Employment 

2) Sexual & Reproductive Health 

3) Civic Participation 

Each placement is based on the needs of the local community; whether that be a need for better HIV awareness, career guidance, youth resource centres or non-formal education. Volunteers often build on the work of previous volunteers to improve the opportunities for young people in the community. 

The money raised for Restless Development goes towards ensuring the long-term sustainability of the projects which ensures the good work can continue.
