Story

2020 marks the 10th anniversary of my ‘wicked uncle’ Richard dying from cancer (the 4th for my Father, 28th for my Granny & *does finger maths* 37th for my Grandfather)

By the time my Uncle was diagnosed cancer treatments had advanced dramatically and unlike his parents he was able to ‘enjoy’ several more years living with, rather than dying from, cancer, this brought its own challenges though, financial, medical and of course emotional - as he said the worst side effect of cancer is becoming invisible.

As cancer treatments have changed so has the role of Macmillan from what my Granny referred to as ‘the death nurse’ to a fantastic resource there to help everyone with cancer live life as fully as they can, providing physical, financial and emotional support.

Thank you for reading my story and for any donations you can spare xx
