Poppy's treatment at PICU

Daniel Cordina is raising money for Friends of PICU

Poppy's treatment at PICU · 3 August 2020

We fundraise to buy equipment, fund major projects, desensitise the medical environment and buying a new ambulance for the Children's Intensive Care Unit at Southampton University Hospital. Caring for critically ill children from across the south of England and the Channel Islands.

Story

As you may know, our baby Poppy was very poorly after just 11 days of being born and following stabilisation in A&E at Frimley Park Hospital, she was treated at Southampton's Paediatric Intensive Care Unit ('PICU') for an undiagnosed heart condition.

Without question, the emergency heart surgery performed while in PICU saved Poppy's life. Although she will be monitored closely, we're delighted to say that she is back home and recovering very well.

We are eternally grateful to the NHS and want to do all we can to help PICU's incredible facility and team.

All donations are really appreciated - especially during this period where charities are struggling. We are making our own personal contribution and also hope to further increase our donation to PICU from both EY & SCJ employee matching schemes.

Thank you.

From Dan, Penny and Poppy xx
