Story

Richard was diagnosed with Aspergers (a disability on the Autistic Spectrum) when he was 11. Richard found it hard to make sense of the world in which he lived, he was trusting and gentle.

As Richard grew older he found coping with his disability increasingly difficult, he felt he was not understood and the world would judge rather than understand.

Despite this Richard achieved his ambition of gaining a place at University at Brighton. He successfully completed his first year and had just commenced his second year at the time of his tragic death.

Despite his Aspergers Richard had a keen sense of fun and had many friends although he struggled with a sense of worth and self-esteem.

He was a talented musician and could play a number of instruments although he will probably be best remembered for his guitar skills - impressive for someone completely self taught and usually playing a right hand guitar left handed! He had many followers of his music posted online and was recently in the studio practising with friends in his band.

We pray you are at peace now Richard - beloved son, brother and friend to so many who miss you and just want you to know you were truly loved xx
