As part of last year’s laptop refresh scheme, Orange now has many retired HP 2560p and 8460p laptops to dispose of. These are now written-down as assets, so Orange is able to offer them to employees. However, the laptops have been wiped of all their contents for data security, but still include the hard disk (SSD).
All is not lost however, because a crack team of volunteers in London are donating some of their time to convert these “bricks” into fully working, licensed Windows 7 laptops, for a minimum donation for their time, of £30 per laptop, to Orange’s current charity partner – Dogs for Good.
Please only make your donation once we have confirmed that your request(s) are available, leaving your name so that we know who has donated - we can then arrange a convenient time for collection.
Remember that your donation is for the time and effort in installing the OS and preparing the machines rather than the hardware itself. However, unfortunately applying Gift Aid is not possible in these circumstances.
