Please help send me to Lebanon!

Hello! My name is Rebel and I am in love with giving back and roller skating! For as long as I can remember, I have always been an activist. I spend my time trying to fight for the underdog, and use what I have been blessed with to help others. Most of the time this is with my words over the internet, or in the classroom teaching students to be confident and own their power. However, it is time for me to move beyond the page and put action to my words. Since I began roller skating, I have had a passion burning in my soul to do something good with this amazing feeling that I get every time I lace up my skates. So I teach lessons to new skaters and make content to help try and bring the skate community together. And now I have been given an incredible opportunity to be a part of something amazing. 

In May 2020, I will be going on a trip to Lebanon with Free Border Skate to help run a play therapy program for children and teens. We will be teaching kids how to roller skate as a form of play therapy, and helping to establish the continuation of this program by training coaches who live there. Free Border Skate is structured to strengthen self-confidence, well-being, and communication in children affected by armed conflict, displacement, and poverty. 

In order to go on this trip, I need your help! By donating, you are not only supporting my travel, but also the continuation of this program well after I leave Lebanon. Any amount helps, whether it be $20, $50, $100, it makes a significant difference. <3 Your support allows me to do what I am passionate about- to provide for those who don't have access to assistance, to help those who are hurting to create outlets for their experience post trauma, and to make space for healing, something I think we can do through roller skating. I will continue to viciously fight for equality, even past the point when my pen runs out of ink, my voice fades, and my skates no longer roll.
