I'm tackling the Lakeland 50 event at the end of this month along with 7 friends of mine. It is the 4th year the event has been run, but the first time we have entered. It is a 50 mile trek/walk/run over 50 miles of beautiful but tough Cumbrian countryside! Taking in some high peaks it will be a real physical test! We start at 12 noon on Saturday 30th July with 24 hours, through the night, until 12 noon the following day to finish.

I couldn't try something like this without trying to raise some money for a good cause. This time I've chosen the Hospice Of The Good Shepherd in Chester. The Hospice has looked after several close friends of mine over recent years and does a sterling job.

But as is often the case, suffers from a chronic shortage of funds.I would like to dedicate my page to both Pat English and more recently Sharon Miles who were both lovingly cared for by the Hospices dedicated, friendly and caring staff.

I know times are hard, but any help at all in aiding me to raise some much needed funds for them would be greatly appreciated.
