I did the swim and it only took 47 mins! After a freezing cold wait in a queue of equally crazy competitors our wave was told to get in the water. There was very little time to aclimatise before we were told to swim to the other side of the river and commence our swim. Luckily for us the current was super strong after all the rain we have had. I set off doing front crawl and after stopping a few times to demist my goggles realised that I had made quite good progress. I finished with a final push at the end and was helped out of the water as I was a little bit wobbly. After thawing out and getting changed I checked the finish time to see that I had done it in 47 mins. This was half the time I had hoped.
