We Support DA survivors & raise awareness to End domestic in the UK

Story

The Diversity Group is back again. This time round we have set ourselves an even greater challenge and a bigger number to achieve.

We have completed our climbing challenge for the year in March 2023.

We will be working closely this year with Bromley & Croydon Women's Aid as we wanted to help women and children who experience domestic violence. At this moment, we would like to fund raise in lead up to the Christmas holidays because a lot of incidents take place over Christmas within the borough of Bromley.

The charity has been around for 46 years and have 9 refuge centres around London, where the victims can stay up to 2 years. Bromley & Croydon Women's Aid has provided safe, secure, high quality temporary accommodation and specialist support services to women escaping domestic abuse, along with early intervention, prevention and awareness campaigns.

- Every week, 2 women are killed by their partner or ex-partner.
- 1 in every 4 victims of abuse will commit suicide
- 1 in 4 girls will experience domestic abuse during their lifetime

These statistics speak volumes and with your support:

- £25 helps to provide a care package for a woman for one week
- £70 will pay for the victim to attend support groups
- £150 will help to run programmes in schools
- £500 can help to train up advocates who work directly with the victims, and can also help victims with health services and housing advice.

We thank you for your kind donations.

Best Wishes,

Diversity Group @HABE

BCWA puts anyone who contacts us for support at the heart of decision making, so that they can gain the confidence, strength and self-respect needed to free themselves from abusive relationships. BCWA focuses on maintaining the independence, confidence and self-esteem of anyone it helps. We also work with children of survivors, who are victims also, and young people to raise awareness and promote healthy relationships.
