Morrisons Great Manchester Run 2015 · 10 May 2015 ·
RECLAIM is a registered charity based in Manchester and our goal is to end leadership inequality in a generation. Too few young people from working class communities achieve their personal and career potential, and their views and experiences can fail to reach an audience and to have influence.
RECLAIM’s unique Leadership programme lasts two years and is for 12-15 year-olds who: demonstrate leadership potential, are from working class communities and who share our passion for positive social change. We encourage critical thinking and ‘disruptive leadership’. Participants are introduced to key concepts - Leadership, Enterprise, Activism and Community Development - and undertake monthly personal development activities that build their confidence and social skills. They are then linked with relevant corporate and other contacts who provide training, workshops, business challenges and other high level opportunities for them to develop their skills. All are set high level, challenging goals that must be achieved prior to graduation at the end of the course.
Standing up for working class young people
RECLAIM is endorsed by local authorities yet receives no public funding and is fully reliant on voluntary donations. Places on this free Programme consistently become oversubscribed once released. Every donation made will help pay for a place on the Leadership Programme for another young person. That’s another young person excited about a positive, rewarding future, regardless of where they happen to live today.
Your donation will help more young people to flourish. Every donation is greatly appreciated.
Inequality is bad for everyone . Together we can create a society in which working class young people are positively seen, authentically heard and can lead meaningful social change.
