HELLO! Thank you for taking the time out to visit my page : ) This is my story...

As a few of you may know - I am not exactly fit...Only the other week a flight of stairs brought me to my knees ... I had a stitch in my side, not a breath of air in my lungs and my legs felt like they had been replaced with jelly! Not a pleasant experience- made even more worse when I realised I was only half way up!

A couple of days later a very good friend of mine asked me if I would join her in the race for life, as support. My immediate reaction was, needless to say, one of utter panic and dread. The colour must have drained from my face as she gave me a couple of days to think about it.

And here is where the story starts... In those couple days I told a few people I was thinking about doing the Race For Life. It shocked me just how many people were either battling cancer themselves or knew someone who was. I was overwhelmed at just how full of life everyone was. They told me of bungee jumping, paragliding, mountain climbing experiences they had done, they had me in stitches at stories when these experiences hadn't gone quite according to plan. Friends and family brought me to tears when they told of the bad days brought on by chemotherapy, radiotherapy and drugs.

 All of these people were the most remarkable and inspirational people I have ever met. They were determined to live life to the max and wasn't going to let anything get in their way. They took the rough days with a determined smile and the good days with more energy and zest for life than I have ever seen before.

It was there and then I decided if they can take Cancer head on - I could take on a tiny flight of stairs... in fact I could run 5km!

So please help me in my mission and sponsor me. Together we can help beat cancer and that flight of stairs : )
