Story

Hi and welcome to me and my mum's sponsor page. Me and my mum have done race for life 3 times before now and this will be our 4th time ( and it will be on the day of my 12th birthday! )

In the beginning we did race for life in memory of my nannie who died from breast cancer in February, 2004, but a couple of months before the race i got diagnosed with a type of cancer called leukaemia. When we did the race i had just started my treatment for the cancer so I was very poorly. Although I was poorly we still did the race. Unfortunately I collapsed after 1km but I really wanted to carry on so I made it round with the help of my family, who carried me.

A year later I was too ill to take part as I was still having chemotherapy treatment but the following year we did the race with a smile, although i was still having treatment. I felt much better and managed to run the race with my cousins and our parents.

The most recent time, me and my mum started the race at Quex Park as I was a special guest because I had won a Pride of Britain Award. We had also helped hand out leaflets for the race at Bluewater Shopping Centre a few months before participating in the race.

Last year we were not able to take part in the race as my mum was diagnosed with breast cancer. She had to have a mastectomy and radiotherapy but is getting better now so HERE WE GO AGAIN!!!!

We hope that we can raise alot of money this year TO HELP BEAT CANCERS BIG FAT BUTT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
